LATEST NEWS August 2005 We have had a relatively quiet summer with many of our members away. Our group of CWM students left us along with Now we are looking forward to the start of the new academic year and an influx of international students. We also look forward to the brief return of Dr. K.C. Abraham who will be one of our preachers during September and October.
29th June 2005 After
spending two years in Tainan building the new High Speed Railway one of our most
loyal and hard-working members; Rudy Henrijanto returned to Indonesia.
Rudy had given much encouragement to us all with his enthusiasm for the gospel
and his contribution to the music in our worship week by week. I addition
to leading singing with his guitar and on the piano he also organised the rota
of other pianists and shared to the full as a member of the church committee.

2nd January 2005 To celebrate the New Year a number of members of the congregation took a trip to the mountains to the East of Tainan. Intending to visit Baolai the GPS in one of our cars induced a sudden left turn and we ended up at Mount Zion, the home of a community of the New Testament Church of God. It was an interesting visit. (See John's photo website for more.)
28th September 2004
22nd September 2004 Last Sunday our congregation for the communion service was the biggest for a long time with a congregation of nearly 50. The new semester is just starting at Taiwan Theological College and Seminary and we were delighted to be able welcome new students from within Taiwan and from abroad. An international group of students sponsored jointly by the Council for World Mission (CWM) and the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) joined us together with others who are just starting at the college. We were also delighted to welcome back the Reverend Augustine Musopole, a Malawian professor at ChangJong Christian university. He was married in the summer and we look forward to meeting his new wife when she joins him in the New Year. At our committee meeting before the service we made further resolutions to build up the life of the congregation. This was only the third such meeting. Although the congregation had been in existence for a number of years the committee was only established this spring. We are still discovering our way but it is exciting to share in the work at such a time. A few months ago we had been wondering who God would send us to share in leading music. We have been delighted to see God answer our prayers through sending several experienced and talented pianists. Now we are looking forward to God showing us who will lead the Sunday School that we are keen to begin. |
